Now, let me start off by saying that I am not an overweight person. In fact, I'm probably a bit underweight. My weight is not my problem, it's the nutritional values I often neglect.
Today, I found myself pigging out on some delicious Pizza Bites and cupcakes. Now, I'm active enough that I will shed the weight, but this simply can't be good for my body, can it? I do this quite a lot, really. Pizza Bites. Hot Pockets. All of this delicious, unhealthy food is calling my name all the time.
I think the only time I can manage something healthy is when I go to Subway. Even then, though, I've lately found myself ordering chipotle chicken instead of turkey breast. Mostly cause turkey breast went up in price. I miss that being a 5 dollar footlong.
It totals to about $7.60 something if you get a meal. With two cookies, instead of chips. Sugar or chocolate chip or peanut butter. Be sure to get the sandwich on Italian herb and cheese bread. Add jalepenos. UGH! I need to stop!
What can I eat that's amazingly delicious, but won't utterly ravage my body?
Every time I'm eating terrible things and I think that I should be eating better and I then I remember, fat is delicious.
ReplyDeleteI have the same problem, food is to addictive... Don't have a solution either
ReplyDeleteI think your post here is really spot on.. The problem is the junk food is really cheap whereas eating healthy costs a fair amount more.
ReplyDeleteWhat I try to tell myself before eating fast food (as unlike you I happen to be a *tad* overweight) is if they can sell for so cheap what's in it? Nothing but junk...
The healthiest choice for me is at Subway as well, I get the roasted chicken on the Italian with a bunch of veggie and just a very small amount of the Chipotle sauce sometimes I'll be really good and get it a tiny amount of Ranch sauce. My problem is I always get the combo with Miss Vickies S&V Chips and an iced tea :\
yea i need to start eating better as well, keep us posted on how it goes! and I really cant think of anything atm for what to eat that wont be bad for you as I am not the healthiest but.. lol
ReplyDeleteI'm exactly the same man. Im extremely thin except i eat extremely "badly". Ill stop soon i swear. Following someone like me : )
ReplyDeletei think that's one of the reasons why diets generally fail. the world is too delicious. exercise is key
ReplyDeleteWell, I have the same problem, my friend... :|
ReplyDeleteIan, learn to cook.
ReplyDeleteBirdman.
That's the same with me I'm 165lbs if I ate healthier I'd be around 155lbish but sodas/energy drinks are to delicious :(
ReplyDeleteYeah, just try not to eat so much junk food, the weight is easy to put on but hard to take off...
ReplyDeleteI diet all the time. I manage to still eat great food. Made some Jollof rice tonight with Lamb. Was good.
ReplyDeleteI just try to watch how much I eat of something. Lately it's been doing the trick!
ReplyDeleteAll I had today was about 20 cookies.
ReplyDeleteI've got the same problem :/
ReplyDelete"What can I eat that's amazingly delicious, but won't utterly ravage my body?"
ReplyDeleteImpossible. If such a food existed, we would have discovered it trillions of years before the earth was even born.
Just buy ingredients from fresh and make the food yourself, give google a quick search for some starter recipes.
ReplyDeleteIf you limit the amount you spend then you end up cutting out the junk food for just what you need to cook it.
If you feel the portion sizes are a bit measly just bulk it out with carbs like pasta, rice, or some filling vegtables such as avocado, lentils, etc.
If you feel like snacking go for sweet fruits, banana, oranges etc, or get some smoothies/ make your own.
It might be a bit pricey when you start doing it and find out what works for you and what doesnt, but I bet you can live a lot healthier for the same/ slighly more than you do now.
And you'll feel great for it.
try some vegetable soup.. you probably will need to cut down on junkfood it becomes a big habit while your out on the street most of the time
ReplyDeleteI eat sometimes healthy sometimes not so healthy :)
